Champagne & The Talking Eggs [Animated Creole Folk tale]
Published September 22nd, 2006 in Entertainment for Black Children, Must-see Black Movies.![]() Champagne & The Talking Eggs By $12.25 Two distinctive animated tales from Michael Sporn give youngsters perspectives rarely seen in animation. The Talking Eggs is based on a Creole folk tale set in the urban city. There the adolescent girl Selina has it tough: Mom wants her to do constant chores and her brother turns away from her to act “cool” with his friends. When Selina befriends an elderly woman living on the outskirts of poverty, she is awakened to real hardship, magic, and the ability to use her inner strength. Champagne takes an interview with a real-life teenager who has grown up with her mom in prison and turns it into an inspirational tale of the young girl’s drive to be a great individual. Eggs is suitable for ages 5 and up. Champagne needs an older audience–at least 7–yet it is a wonderful presentation of very tough, very human world that some kids must face and all other kids should learn. –Doug Thomas Read More Details |
